Auxiliary Bishop Dick: "The Aversion to the Old Rite is so Strong That it Can Not be Celebrated at All"

"Communion of Saint Catherine of Sienna" by Domenico Beccafumi (1520)

"In practice, however, the aversion to the form of the old rite is so strong that it can not be celebrated at all. Here the Pope's intention was not taken up."
Msgr. Klaus Dick, auxiliary bishop of Cologne, in an interview of the Tagespost for the 10th anniversary of the Motu proprio Summorum Pontificum and its implementation in the Federal Republic of Germany.

If this worthless Pope we are stuck with for the moment were to try to suppress/disallow the Tridentine Latin Mass, he would have such a rebellion on his hands that he would destroy the Church....which is probably his intention, and that of this German , Bishop Dick.
He's named appropriately 'cause that's what he is, just like his boss Francis.

Many apologies for the above comment. There was no accompanying article, so I thought this was one of the usuall Vatican II radical German bishops spouting off his hateful opinion of the Tridentine Latin Mass. So I looked him up on Google.
Quite the contrary. Bishop Dick is 89, and celebrates the Tridentine Latin Mass himself.
What he was speaking about, is despite BenedictXVI's wide allowance for the Tridentine Latin Mass with Summorum Pontificum, the hatred for the Tridentine Latin Mass is so strong and intrenched in the Church among the still dominant liberal branch, that the old Mass is still, practically disallowed....especially in places like Germany. The mindset of these old guard radicals will not allow for a return of the Tridentine Latin Mass.
Bishop Dick is a brave man to speak the truth.
Sorry what I said about him being what his name implies. But it still applies to Francis, because he's exactly of that group who would like to abolish the Latin Mass for ever.

Bishop Dick appears to express disappointment, not agreement, with the 'aversion' to the Extraordinary Form. So, be more careful with where you lay blame.

Damian's apology appears below.

Thanks Damian for clarifying! At first I myself thought the Bishop was railing against the TLM. The article was unclear as to which side he was on. Thank the Dear Lord we still have prelates that are actually Catholic men. They may be far and few between, but the Lord has provided faithful clergy for us!!

Thank the good Lord for the SSPX

A beautiful example of why we should imitate the Blessed Mother. Judging no one, expecting, hoping, assuming the best in people, and if that does not pan out then praying deeply for them.
I know, much easier said than done.

The electric Dick is sure one heck of a Traditionalist crowd pleaser.

The "aversion" is a great affirmation that I'm in the right form of the rite every Sunday. Deo Gratias.
